Q: What is a rolling contact bearing?

Update Time:2020/8/25
A: There are many classification methods for the structure types of rolling bearings. Among them, according to the load direction or nominal contact angle that they can withstand, they can be divided into radial bearings and thrust bearings.

◆ Radial bearing

Radial bearings are mainly used for rolling bearings that bear radial loads, with a nominal contact angle from 0 ° to 45 °. According to the different contact angles, they are divided into:

● Radial contact bearings: radial bearings with a nominal contact angle of 0 °;

● Angular contact radial bearings: Radial bearings with a nominal contact angle greater than 0 ° to 45 °.

◆Thrust bearing

Thrust bearings are mainly used for rolling bearings that bear axial loads. Their nominal contact angle is greater than 45 ° to 90 °. According to the different contact angles, they are divided into:

● Axial contact bearings: Thrust bearings with a nominal contact angle of 90 °;

● Angular contact thrust bearings: Thrust bearings with a nominal contact angle greater than 4 ° 5 but less than 90 °.
